Pigeon Heroes Summer Camp
Join us for a week of science, history, nature, and fun centered around

Campers will spend the week learning about these special birds and handling them each day. They will learn about their biology and the proper way to hold them. They will investigate how scientists learn about how pigeons can find their way home from great distances and places that they have never been before. Campers will channel their own inner pigeon as they learn how to use a compass and navigate an orienteering course. They will practice techniques used by the United States Signal Corps during the world wars, and they will hear stories that detail how pigeons saved thousands of lives during different wars. Bringing history to life, the campers will reenact the historic rescue of the Lost Battalion of WWI and be "saved" by the dramatic release of their own Cher Ami pigeon. United by their Pigeon Camp Signal Corp t-shirts (supplied by the camp), the platoon is sure to enjoy and remember this unique adventure based on history and full of play.
Base camp will be the Adult Lounge in the community center, which is a large, air-conditioned room connecting to an outdoor patio. Beyond that lies the wide-open space of Hampton Community Park, waiting to be explored.
Platoon size is limited so campers can have plenty of personal time with the birds.

Reserve a spot with a $25 non-refundable deposit. Tuition is reduced by $40 for siblings of campers. Full camp tuition is due 7 days before camp begins.

Cancellation Policy: In the event of a cancellation by Dovecote Missions, you will be notified as soon as possible and you will be refunded the entire camp tuition fee. If a camper must cancel, camp fees will refunded as follows.
Cancellations received more than 21 days before camp begins will receive a full refund minus $25 deposit. Cancellations received 14-21 days before camp begins will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than 14 days before camp starts. |
